In real life, they may not really want House as their doctor. We took my dad to "the best neurosurgeon in the country" and indeed he and his team found a brain tumor that our original hospital missed.
but his bedside manner was so obnoxious that we went back to the old hospital! my father died a year later.
now i wish we'd had thicker skin to handle the arrogance. i'd rather have my dad around. (then again, there's no guarantee he would be)
