Beta blockers and long term effects on COPD
They may
improve survival and reduce exacerbations
.
Physicians traditionally decry the use of beta blockers in COPD based largely on physiologic rationale. This is similar to our avoidance of beta blockers in heart failure in the 60s and 70s.
